Local Gallery Supporting Local Causes this Saturday
A 24-Hour Block Party Featuring Live Art and Social Engagement
On Saturday, August 10, RedLine Contemporary Art Center in RiNo will shut down streets surrounding the gallery and host a 24-Hour Block Party. This block party will feature socially engaged art projects ranging from mural painting to performing arts, as well as live musical acts featuring local musicians. The theme of this year’s block party is D | Vision, where artists will be focusing on how culture makes vision out of division as well as looking to where it will take us in the future.
The Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank, a local sight-based non-profit, will be at the block party on August 10. Making art with sight is hard enough, but how does creativity shift after vision loss? The only way to find out is to attend the block party and take part in the interactive exhibit. The block party leads up to the Circle of Light Photo Project happening at RedLine on August 24, where photos taken by corneal transplant recipients will be displayed and bid on at a silent auction. Tickets for this event are on sale now at corneas.org/2019colpp.
Although some exhibits require pre-registration, this weekend-long event is free, family-friendly, and open to the general public. For more information and a schedule, go to redlineart.org.
