Did you know April is one of the best times to welcome visible signs of spring? For National Donate Life Month this April, we invite you to look for birds across our region. Birds are known across many cultures to represent new beginnings and visits from loved ones who have passed away. The yearly return of birds each spring and their songs offer us peace and hope.
Donate Life America and its partnering organizations established National Donate Life Month in 2003. In April each year, National Donate Life Month helps raise awareness about donation, encourages Americans to register as eye, organ, and tissue donors, and honors those who have healed and saved lives through the gift of donation.
Your decision to be an eye, organ, and tissue donor gives hope and light to the nearly 100,000 people on the national transplant waiting list and the thousands more who need cornea and tissue transplants. That's why we choose to 'Let Life Sing'!
"Life is a song; let's sing it together." ~ Joe Young
Print and download materials to display at home or work to remind others of the importance of eye, organ, and tissue donation. Adults and children alike can enjoy these fun and bright materials!
Celebrate the gift of life and help raise awareness in April for eye, organ, and tissue donation in your community by helping to honor the gift of donation on any of the following days:
Print the handout or infographic with facts, data, and FAQs. Learn how you can help. This resource is a great tool for presentations or local community talks. Have coffee with family or friends, tell them about your donation decision, and share how donation impacts your community with these facts. Did you know that just one cornea donor can restore sight in two others?
Share these graphics on your social media pages. Sharing your donation decision with your friends and family is important. Look to the sky this April and celebrate all the superstar donors in our lives!
